How should I dispose of old dental records or consumer information (credit reports, etc.)?

Before you dispose of any employee and patient records, make sure you know what the records contain. Dental records must be disposed of in a way that protects the confidentiality of the information contained in the records. Consumer information (see below) must also be disposed of to avoid unauthorized access to or use of the information.
