The MDA House of Delegates Nominating Committee is seeking candidates for a variety of MDA Board, officer, and leadership positions to take office in 2024. This is your opportunity to grow personally and professionally, put your experience and energy to work for the dental profession, and LEAD, SUPPORT and INSPIRE current and future generations of dentists! Open positions for 2024 include:
- MDA president-elect.
- MDA secretary/treasurer.
- Three MDA trustee positions (three-year terms).
- ADA 9th District Delegation (at least three delegate and 14 alternate positions).
The Nominating Committee is chaired by the MDA immediate past president. This year’s chair is Dr. Vince Benivegna, of East Lansing. The committee is comprised of 12 members selected from each of the MDA regions, with the MDA president as a non-voting member.
The House of Delegates elects all members of the MDA Board of Trustees, MDA officer positions, and ADA delegates and alternate delegates. The MDA House will receive recommendations from the Nominating Committee and then cast votes at the 2024 Annual Session.
In the case where a sitting trustee whose term has not yet ended is elected to an officer position, there may be an additional trustee position of less than three years to be filled.
How to apply
To apply for one of the open positions, interested candidates should submit an application, a current curriculum vitae and a signed conflict of interest statement. The deadline for submissions for the 2024 House is Dec. 7, 2023.
