In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, the MDA will present a free live webinar, “Substance Abuse Disorders, Mental Health, and Burnout Issues in Dentistry,” taking place Wednesday, May 24 from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Eastern time and featuring speaker J. William Claytor Jr., DDS.
The webinar, open to dentists and dental staff, will address what the dental profession must do to educate dentists, dental team members, patients, and the profession at large from the effects of mental health illnesses.
“I will discuss ways to practice dentistry in a healthy manner so that we can provide dentistry and protect our profession that we so dearly love and have the privilege to practice,” Claytor said.
The webinar will examine the effects stress, burnout, perfectionism, and substance abuse can have on mental health, and will explore the impact and potential interactions associated with mental health illness and substance abuse disorders. The webinar will also define burnout and its applicability to the dental office, and offer recommended solutions.
Claytor lectures throughout the United States on the opioid epidemic, burnout, perfectionism, and addiction.
The free webinar offers one CE credit for course completion. Click here for more details or to register.
