Dr. Lisa Sostecke: “It’s nice to know I’m helping people!”

Dr. Lisa Sostecke, of Rockford, recently made a generous commitment to the Michigan Dental Association Foundation. A 1978 graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, she’s now semi-retired, but still practices one day a week and also volunteers at a local dental clinic and animal shelter.

Here’s her story:

“I’m happy to say that I’m enjoying a secure retirement that dentistry helped make possible, although I still practice one day a week. But it’s nice to know I can continue to make a difference through charitable giving.

“Giving feels good. I know the Foundation will continue to grow and get stronger and be able to do more for Michigan citizens in ways we haven’t yet envisioned. I’m looking forward to seeing that happen. It’s nice to know I’m helping people.

“When I make a gift, I want my money to go to sound organizations that have a strong mission and are focused on the future. I also like to make sure I’m giving to an organization that doesn’t spend more than necessary on administration. The MDA is a well-run organization and the Foundation deserves our support.

It’s important to me to help grow the Foundation’s endowment. Growing the endowment is critical to reach the Foundation’s goals in the future.
