New Dentist Network Lounge

The MDA New Dentist Committee is presenting the New Dentist Network Lounge, regional new dentist networking events held throughout the year and sponsored by MDA Insurance, MDA Services and the ADA.

Admission is free to dentists, students and dental school residents and includes plenty of free food items, beverages, plus a cash bar. Meet other new dentists, make friends, share ideas, network and have fun! Plus-one attendance is also free (and encouraged). There will be no continuing education program – just the chance to meet other new dentists, make friends, share ideas, network, and have fun!

The morning program features Peter Loomis, DDS, of the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator speaking on the topics of "Multiple Fatality Incident Dental Identification" and "Human Identification/Dental Identification." In the afternoon, Joe Sveska, of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will present "Civilian Response to Active Shooters" and "Mindset." The day will conclude with an question and answer period on future programs. Six hours of continuing education will be available and lunch will be provided. Deadline to register is Oct. 17, 2016.

About the Speaker ... John A. Molinari, PhD is currently director of infection control for The Dental Advisor in Ann Arbor. He is also professor emeritus at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where he served for 32 years as professor and chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Director of Infection Control. He has published over 450 scientific articles, text chapters, and abstracts in the areas of microbiology and immunology, and lectures nationally and internationally on topics dealing with infectious diseases and infection control.

Space is limited. First come, first served! Additional baggage fees may apply. On your registration form, describe any variations to the above itinerary for which you would like a quote, including Detroit Metro park-and-fly packages and other pre- or post- cruise travel.

A deposit of $500 per person for the cruise portion and $250 per person for the group flights is required to confirm space. It is refundable, less a $100 admin fee, until the final payment date of April 3, 2017.

Travel Insurance

Optional travel insurance is not included but is highly recommended and should be purchased at time of registration. The cost is based on the age of traveler and trip cost per person. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like a quote.

Proof of Citizenship

U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises (cruises that begin and end at the same port in the U.S.) will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of citizenship, such as a government-issued birth certificate and laminated government issued picture ID, denoting photo, name and date of birth. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16 will be able to present either an original or notarized or certified copy of his or her birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad issues by DOS, or Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

NOTE: Baptismal papers and hospital certificates of birth are not acceptable. Voter registration cards or Social Security cards are not considered proof of citizenship.
