Taking care of yourself means more than setting sail on your annual cruise or lying down to a weekly back massage. In order to truly take care of yourself you may want to pamper yourself with the following:

  • discover five stress reduction techniques that will give you control over your emotions;
  • learn five sleep techniques that will have you nodding off as soon as your head hits the pillow;
  • remember important information with these easy to learn memory techniques;
  • learn how humor can reduce stress and increase creativity, productivity, memory and reduce the incidence of disease;
  • prevent/treat low back pain with these seven flexibility and strength training exercises; and
  • take control back in the life of caregivers with this program on time management.

The afternoon session will deal with strategic thinking for problem solving and techniques for getting along with people during difficult periods of their lives.

Course objectives:

  • how to problem solve;
  • get along with others;
  • get along with patients; and
  • understand the direct relationship between the immune system, heart disease and periodontal disease.

A survey of U.S.-based survivors of human trafficking shows that while being trafficked, 26.5 percent of victims were seen by dentists. More than half of women and adolescents reported tooth pain and or tooth loss; however, the provider did not recognize these attributing factors or red flags as indicators to human trafficking crimes. This course will help dental professionals further develop their education and knowledge to identify trafficked individuals who they may be seeing day to day and to create a standard reporting process to reduce the number of victims who currently fall through the cracks.

Course objectives:

  • to facilitate the new Michigan 2014 PA 341 and 343 that mandates human trafficking identification training for medical and dental Professionals and the provision of medical assistance of human trafficking victims.

This course counts toward the Dental Business Professional Certification.
