Keynote Address — Greg Kelser

Basketball’s Enduring Life Lessons

Speaker: Greg Kelser
Time: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Where: Cobo Center
Seating Limit: 500
Target Audience: Entire Dental Team

Greg Kelser and his teammates will soon celebrate the 40-year anniversary of Michigan State University's 1979 NCAA basketball championship. It was a monumental achievement in a game that drew the largest television audience for a college basketball game, a record that still stands to this day.

Greg's message will center around some of the key elements that were critical to reaching a championship level in sports and how those same aspects are equally as important in pursuing excellence in other areas of life.

Topics include:

  • Adapting to change — change is inevitable but survivable.
  • The importance of teamwork — collaboration over individualism.
  • Accountability — why it's essential to avoid excuses and repeated missteps.
  • Going beyond "good enough" — how to reach the highest level.
  • And now what? — sustaining relevance in an evolving environment.

Co-sponsored by MDA Insurance and MDA Services.

The venue: Check out this awesome location, a jewel in the heart of Midtown Detroit! The historic Garden Theater was designed in 1912 by famed architect C. Howard Crane (who also designed the Fox Theatre). After being in ruins for decades, the theater underwent a multi-million dollar restoration and reopened in October 2013. Today, it boasts exposed brick walls, polished cement floors, a stage with a circular ceiling renovated to its original glory, built-in bars, and a mezzanine level perfect for viewing all the action. This hip and trendy atmosphere inspires fun and excitement.

Food will be abundant with a fresh healthy buffet or true Detroit fare you choose your flavor or indulge in both. Either way you’ll find the food to be pleasing to the palate. This event is a great time for the entire dental team.
